Wales McLelland Construction has in place a comprehensive safety program with a “zero” incident philosophy for all our operations.
As a member of the “Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety” organization, Wales McLelland Construction is committed to providing healthy and safe work conditions and to promoting positive attitudes toward Health and Safety throughout our entire organization whether it be on-site or in our offices. We ensure that the elements of a strong safety program are present, promoted and followed through pre-project planning, safety orientation & training, on-going worksite hazard inspections and regular safety meetings.
Management is responsible for providing a safe work site by establishing and maintaining adequate standards of maintenance on site to ensure that physical and health hazards are guarded against or eliminated, and by developing work procedures conductive to a healthy and safe workplace.
The Wales McLelland Safety Program represents our company's commitment to Health & Safety and to ensuring this program is rendered and supported on the worksite. As a key part of this commitment, Wales McLelland has also obtained the WorkSafeBC “Certificate of Recognition” (COR). The Health and Safety COR has been awarded to Wales McLelland by Worksafe BC after an extensive audit of the measures and program that our company has implemented in order to maintain an occupational health and safety management system that exceeds regulatory requirements.
Safety is an attitude and a frame of mind; it is not an activity in which one participates only when one is being watched or supervised. Safety is an awareness of one's environment and actions all day, every day.
